02:44.760 --> 02:52.120 Remember, advertisers are paying a lot of money to get their ads in front of consumers. 02:52.120 --> 02:58.560 So the business has changed a lot, it's not just get the consumer to make a purchase. 02:58.560 --> 03:03.720 A lot of the times it's, we don't care if you make a purchase or not, just put it in front of you. 03:03.720 --> 03:06.440 Therefore, you're now a product. 03:06.440 --> 03:09.800 You know, longer just the consumer, you're also the product, 03:09.800 --> 03:15.520 because the consumer is also those spending money to have their ads shown. 03:15.520 --> 03:19.560 So that's why I target marketing versus just advertising. 03:19.560 --> 03:23.200 The market itself, it's a little more complex. 03:23.200 --> 03:29.000 I liked also point out, in many situations, especially when it comes to like entertainment, 03:29.000 --> 03:34.880 movies and television shows that kind of entertainment, uh, in entertainment media. 03:34.880 --> 03:42.040 What I've noticed, especially when it's something that, um, it wants to be pushed. 03:42.040 --> 03:44.680 However, no one wants to consume it. 03:44.680 --> 03:50.000 If you get what I mean, you'll find all sorts of dodgy BS happening. 03:50.000 --> 03:56.880 Where the people marketing stuff that the content will put it in front of you, 03:56.880 --> 03:58.800 they will force it on you. 03:58.800 --> 04:04.840 You will go to your favorite website, and there will be some sort of ad that just auto plays. 04:05.080 --> 04:06.840 Right. 04:06.840 --> 04:11.880 You go on the site and it just plays automatically without your permission. 04:11.880 --> 04:15.400 And there's absolutely no warning or anything. 04:15.400 --> 04:18.440 It all depends on what browser you're using and the settings you have. 04:18.440 --> 04:22.680 You know, so if you like me, this currently is not happening to you, 04:22.680 --> 04:27.000 but I'm just pointing out for those of you that don't configure your browsers. 04:27.000 --> 04:29.480 And you don't have a freedom respecting browser. 04:29.480 --> 04:32.680 This isn't experience you're still having. 04:32.680 --> 04:37.800 Now what that said, the content will be forced onto you, which is auto play. 04:37.800 --> 04:43.080 You will then be counted as having consumed said content. 04:43.080 --> 04:48.360 No matter how you feel about the content, because in most of those situations, 04:48.360 --> 04:58.440 you are not going to click around and find the little icon that says send feedback on said content. 04:58.440 --> 05:04.120 And then take the time to send your feedback with OMG. 05:04.120 --> 05:08.040 I seriously dislike this content. 05:08.040 --> 05:11.160 They know you're not going to do that, so they'll just check the box. 05:11.160 --> 05:18.120 As another person has consumed content, therefore, for the advertisers, 05:18.120 --> 05:22.840 the people paying the money to have their ads put in front of consumers. 05:22.840 --> 05:28.200 I mean, as far as they know, millions are consuming content. 05:28.200 --> 05:32.520 Where the breakdown happens, you know, where whether surprise happens 05:32.520 --> 05:36.760 is when you view a site like say rotten tomatoes or something like that, 05:36.760 --> 05:43.000 where people actively go to in order to express how they feel about the content, 05:43.000 --> 05:44.760 that's where the breakdown happens at. 05:44.760 --> 05:52.040 Because now you've got consumers who actively show up until you exactly what they think 05:52.040 --> 05:55.560 in the marketers and advertisers don't like that, right? 05:55.560 --> 06:03.720 They don't like it when consumers aren't presented with a canned message, you know what I mean? 06:03.720 --> 06:10.280 So like one through five, one being, maybe I'll watch some more. 06:10.280 --> 06:14.680 And five being, I want to watch it all day, every day. 06:14.680 --> 06:17.800 You know what I mean? 06:17.800 --> 06:21.720 They don't like it when you don't have the canned message when you get to go and 06:21.720 --> 06:28.840 and type your own message in with who in their right minds got hired for this POS, 06:28.840 --> 06:33.640 fire them immediately and then burn down the data center, right? 08:02.760 --> 08:08.040 And this goes from movies, you know, your usual consumer content 08:08.040 --> 08:15.880 to YouTube videos, to video games, to music, podcasts, 08:15.880 --> 08:19.400 anything that consumers consume regularly. 08:19.400 --> 08:23.480 They don't want you to have your original say. 08:23.480 --> 08:28.920 And they most certainly, here's one of the other major things that I realized, 08:28.920 --> 08:34.600 they really don't want you going to a reviewer other than the ones that they approve of. 08:34.600 --> 08:39.240 If there's a reviewer out there that has not been bought and paid for, 08:39.240 --> 08:40.440 you know what I mean? 08:40.440 --> 08:45.000 And in the different platforms, we'll have many reviewers on here, 08:45.080 --> 08:48.840 but the ones that are bought and paid for are usually at the top, right? 08:48.840 --> 08:54.840 You're going to make sure they put that reviewer in front of as many eyes as possible. 08:54.840 --> 08:57.960 So if you're looking for movie reviews, game reviews, 08:57.960 --> 09:02.760 it's a good chance you'll see the I&G review or things of that nature because 09:02.760 --> 09:07.000 those guys, they get paid enough money to where they understand. 09:07.000 --> 09:13.800 Nothing leaves the shop unless it's seven and above, right? 09:13.880 --> 09:20.360 Every single game they ever reviewed, the lowest score they're allowed to give it is a seven. 09:20.920 --> 09:25.960 And outside of that, you know, most other things are going to get a 10 out of 10. 09:25.960 --> 09:30.040 You know, so those reviews at the end of the day mean absolutely nothing, 09:30.040 --> 09:36.200 but you're going to have other reviewers out there that don't get that front page access, 09:36.200 --> 09:39.960 but you can look for them and actually filter through to find them. 09:39.960 --> 09:43.320 And when you find them, you're going to realize these guys are pretty raw. 09:43.800 --> 09:50.200 They may not have all the fancy edits, they may not have all of that early access where you 09:50.200 --> 09:56.280 get the review, I don't know, five, you know, five days to two weeks before the game actually 09:56.280 --> 10:01.320 gets released or anything like that. You may not get any of that, but what you're going to get 10:01.320 --> 10:09.400 is somebody who spent the full dime on the product, played the product, you know, consumed the product, 10:09.480 --> 10:16.520 the content, and then either they were able to fully articulate their displeasure with the content, 10:16.520 --> 10:20.760 or not, that's what you're going to get. And it's up to you, rather than not, that's valuable to 10:20.760 --> 10:25.880 you or not. Do you want the people who are basically getting paid for the to release seven out of 10:25.880 --> 10:32.520 tens as a minimum, or do you want to consume content from somebody that's going to just, 10:32.520 --> 10:37.560 I mean, look at me wrong, the seven out of ten people, they're not going to drop a bunch of F bombs 10:37.640 --> 10:42.760 and other things like that in the video. So there's that, especially if you have young children 10:42.760 --> 10:48.440 and play these games, you know, you want them to also see the reviews, because that helps you save money. 10:48.440 --> 10:55.400 If the game, the movie, the video, the content, whatever it is, if it's not very good, and you 10:55.400 --> 11:02.200 find a reviewer that has similar tastes, or what if they don't have the same tastes as you, but they 11:02.200 --> 11:08.120 just know their stuff. You understand? Maybe you like comedies, they don't necessarily like comedies, 11:08.120 --> 11:13.160 but they know how to give you all the best points of a comedy, right? They know how to review a comedy, 11:13.160 --> 11:19.160 and they can give you all of those points that maybe you like about it, but you know, 11:19.160 --> 11:25.480 maybe they wouldn't pay the seed again, but what their review provides to you is, 11:25.480 --> 11:31.800 as I guess, you should pay to go see this in the movie theater, or you should pay to purchase 11:31.800 --> 11:36.200 this DVD, which I'm sure a few of you are people doing, you probably just rent in the dowel 11:36.200 --> 11:40.840 on the stream or whatever, so that, you know, they're giving you lots of information that can 11:40.840 --> 11:46.280 be used to make a purchase. I gotta turn an AC on now, and it's starting to get a little hot in here, 11:46.280 --> 11:53.000 my throat super dry, but these are some of the things that I think about, and even software that 11:53.080 --> 11:59.480 interferes with the content, and I'm talking specifically at blockers, a lot of marketers don't 11:59.480 --> 12:06.600 like the fact that you can still buy a DVD, because then you can consume content over and over again, 12:06.600 --> 12:13.560 offline. There's no counter going off, saying how many times that you've consumed content. Not only 12:13.560 --> 12:20.200 that, you can share content, right? Like say for instance, you have a roommate, you can let your roommate 12:20.280 --> 12:27.160 use your DVD, or if it's like in an open space, where you and your roommate share that space, 12:27.160 --> 12:32.040 so maybe you're not watching it, but your roommate is watching it today, and then your roommate 12:32.040 --> 12:37.480 may bring over their significant other or whatever, you know, their friend and the roommate 12:37.480 --> 12:43.000 and the friend watches it that day, right? There's no counter that tracks all of this information 12:43.000 --> 12:50.040 in detail, is just content being consumed in no record of it, you know, being kept. They really 12:50.120 --> 12:56.440 don't like that. So the fact that you can share a DVD, or you can share a book, even worse, 12:56.440 --> 13:02.440 with books, right? Books have knowledge. You can hand someone a book, and they can read it, 13:02.440 --> 13:08.520 and they can buy it. They still haven't fully figured out how to put advertisements in books yet, 13:08.520 --> 13:18.520 right? Stop it, think about that, and in audio books, podcasts, everything else. They've got 13:18.600 --> 13:26.120 advertisements in those, because they can slip them in, and with enough leverage, right? 13:26.120 --> 13:32.200 Meaning, you can still skip past advertisements in the podcast, but if you were driving, 13:32.200 --> 13:37.080 and you didn't want, and you were responsible, and did not want to interact with your device, 13:37.080 --> 13:42.040 you would just let the advertisements play, because you're operating a motor vehicle, 13:42.040 --> 13:47.320 and therefore you would still consume the ad. But with an actual book, 13:47.400 --> 13:54.040 a physical book, can you imagine if you were reading a book? And it's like, I don't know, 13:54.040 --> 13:59.000 some wizard in a school, and they're learning to be wizards, and they're using magic, 13:59.000 --> 14:05.080 and then the bad guy shows up, and just as he's about to use the big spell that they were all 14:05.080 --> 14:16.360 taught never to use, you ended up reading about the newest Honda Civic. That was the terrible one. 14:17.240 --> 14:23.640 That would be his thing. People who read would most certainly head directly to wherever they 14:23.640 --> 14:31.480 purchased that book and request refunds, or if they couldn't get a refund, the reviews would sting 14:31.480 --> 14:37.720 so bad. Any author that allowed that to happen would be pushed off the platform immediately. 14:37.720 --> 14:44.440 Like, look, we just cannot allow any more of this. You do you elsewhere, but we can't allow it on the 14:45.400 --> 14:50.600 platform. Not dimensionally, advertiser. You know, suddenly now the, you know, whoever it is, 14:50.600 --> 14:55.160 they put their ad in a book like that is, they're going to catch all kinds of hate. So they can't 14:55.160 --> 15:00.120 do it with a book, but what they can do with the book, they can make sure, like if it's an ebook, 15:00.120 --> 15:06.360 they can make sure that you only have access to the content, which is the book through an app. 15:06.360 --> 15:11.880 And the app was an advertiser to you before you get to the book, or after you get out of the book. 15:11.960 --> 15:16.120 And if you're using something like an ebook device, like a candle or a milk or whatever, 15:16.120 --> 15:22.280 you know, they have tons of these things on the lock screen, if you will, they'll have advertisements 15:22.280 --> 15:27.880 on the lock screen. One way or another, they'll still market to you, but it's much harder to do with 15:27.880 --> 15:33.960 the book. All right, that's all I got time for today.
